How to become a

The CWP designation (Certified Wedding Planner) is designed for those established planners who desire a certification without a training course.   Applicants are qualified by their level of experience and essay responses in an effort to distinguish the most professional planners from the rest.

The Certified Wedding Specialist (CWS) home-study course remains the appropriate choice for those new to wedding planning. In contrast, the purpose of the Certified Wedding Planner (CWP) designation is to distinguish those seasoned professionals from less experienced planners regardless of course work completed for any school or professional training institution.  It is not necessary to have completed the CWS home-study course in order to apply for your CWP; however, only strictly qualified wedding planners will be granted the designation. 

CWP Applicants will be evaluated on:

Part 1: Quality of References (6 in total)

Part 2: Level of Experience (Minimum 10 weddings)

Part 3: Professionalism of Essay Responses (5 essays)

Applicants must successfully meet the criteria set in the following three parts to obtain certification:

Part 1: References (6 in total)

Part 2: Experience (Minimum 10 weddings)

Part 3: Essay Response (5 essays)

The limited time price for certification is $395 $295.  Payment is due before the applicant can move on to Part 2 of the application process and is partially refundable in the event that the applicant does not pass. Qualified applicants should be able to gauge their ability to pass based upon reading the full instructions contained in the initial mailing.  Certification is not guaranteed, as Weddings Beautiful aims to uphold the highest standards.  CWP certification is currently only available in the USA and Canada.
